Mirrors in the Living Room

If you have a big living room, you’ll probably have more space for a few different mirrors. A small living room will probably do fine with one or two mirrors.

Remember, you don’t want to overload the room with mirrors. The room will start to feel more like a fun room than a living room. Use these next mirror design ideas as starting points.

A Few Big Mirrors

Hanging two big mirrors on walls across from each other is a good way to start. If you have a sliding glass door or a large window, you can hang one of the mirrors across from it.

The natural light reflecting from the room will make the room feel much more open.

If your living room is exceptionally big and you choose to get very large, very heavy mirrors, you don’t have to hang them on the wall. Try leaning them against the wall instead.

A Group of Small Mirrors

These mirrors can be different sizes, different shapes, and have different frames as long as they match each other. Space them out and hang them on the wall like you would a bunch of family photos.

You can also take three or four similar mirrors and lean them, overlapping with each other, on a desk or end table.

Mirrors in the Hallway

Hanging a bunch of mirrors in your hallway will make it feel wider, so if you have a particularly narrow hallway, you should definitely give this a try.

You can also fit these kinds of mirror design ideas in your stairway as well.

Just make sure the mirrors all coordinate. Putting mirrors that clearly don’t match next to each other would just look tacky and distracting.

Mirrors Outside

This may seem a little unconventional, but mirrors can transform your outdoor space as well.

If your garden is placed next to a wall, you should consider hanging mirrors on that wall. The mirrors will make your garden look even bigger and give the illusion that the flowers go on for much longer than they do.

Get Creative with Your Mirror Design Ideas

Mirrors can add personality, openness, and brightness to any room of your house. You can use them as backsplashes in your kitchen or use small shaped mirrors to make mirror designs above your bed.

And if you don’t like the traditional square or rectangle mirrors, try round mirrors. You can also find mirrors that have been given other unique shapes if you want something even more out of the box.

Your mirrors should reflect your personality, so don’t hesitate to get a bright frame or an ornate frame. Get the mirrors you like that will elevate your home the way you want it to.
